Lesson 7 - Portuguese With Carla Podcast

Lesson 7 – Portuguese With Carla Podcast

In this week’s lesson Marlon gets all excited about the television in the hotel room and Carla is mesmerised by the view of Funchal’s harbour (definitely worth a visit btw).

We keep adding value to the podcast, and in this week’s Portuguese With Carla Podcast notes, on top of the audio quiz you can test yourself with, we also have a fun flashcard memorising game. This will feature in all future podcasts.

Enjoy

Narrativa:

C – Ah agora sim! Sim senhora, belo quarto!

Deixa-me ver, sai da frente João, não consigo ver nada!

M – Pronto, bruta pa.

C – Ah tão lindo! As luzes do barco a reflectir no mar, não é? Não é?

Oh Joao fiz-te uma pergunta! O que é que estás a fazer?

M – Temos sport tv aqui!

C – Tens tudo – carteira, chaves do carro, telemóvel…?

M – Sim tenho tudo, vamos embora.

Can you recall?

Well, this episode was even better than the last one! Loads of handy takeaways and expressions I can use to impress them locals next year :). And the new section is phenomenal, with them flashcards and even the spelling game – which adapts to your mistake! – Epah! Impressive job Carla e Marlon, muito obrigado!

Obrigado Paolo. The spelling game is quite time consuming for us to prepare, but I’m hoping to get a few more out within the next few weeks. 🙂

    Hello Carla and Marlon!
These podcasts and audio quiz are unbelievably good. I just want you to let you know that I am really enjoying the podcast and I believe they are fantastic in my goal to become a lot better at Portuguese. This helps me a lot to be better at communicating with my Portuguese friends.
I wish you a happy easter.
    Muito obrigado!

This is just so, so helpful! Thank you so much. And the audio quizzes are great fun.

Obrigada for the comment Maria 🙂

Thanks for the time you have put into everything, especially extra listening exercises. Do you know of a good app for learning European Portuguese? Duolingo is popular but is Brazilian so pronunciations are different as well as other things I’m sure you’re aware of?

You guys are great! Thank you. Miss the science tips from the first few podcasts though…

      Thanks Jarrod.
I think we gave some more in following episodes 🙂

I LOVE your podcasts! What a great way to learn a new language. I love the way you start from a real life scene and build it backwards. I have a teaching and a language background but have never learnt Portuguese- I want to be able to converse with a friend and this is such an enjoyable way to do it. The extras in the website are great too. Thank you so much for this. Caroline

    Hello,
I just wanted to say how fantastic your podcasts are. I stumbled upon them by accident. They have now started forming my listening in the car on the way to work, repeating back what I can. I then access the transcripts at work and read through them and then listen on the way back home again to the same lesson. Thanks for sharing this beautiful language and doing it in such a fun and informative way.

    • Marlon 3 years ago

That’s fantastic Peter. Thanks for letting us know. Appreciate it!

I’m from Puerto Rico but been living in the US for a time now and I wanted to start learning a third language so I decided to go with Portuguese and started looking for podcast to listen. I don’t know how I found this one but I’ve learned so much in just two weeks, I listen to it almost everyday and it’s just amazing. I bought some books to help myself with the writting but you guys are helping me with the pronunciation and meanings. I do have to say that is very similar to Spanish, which is my native language, and that helps me to pronunciate some words better. I’m still at episode 7 but can’t wait to finish it all. Obrigado.

Olá Wesley. Thank you so much for taking the time to write your comment. We really appreciate it and we’re delighted that we can be of assistance. Keep it up!

Thank you for the podcasts! It would be great to see what the answers actually are in the audio quiz, I think it would help to understand when relistening to see what we’ve missed! Obrigada 🙂
